Sozopol

Sozopol Municipality is one of the most magical and ancient corners of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, where history, culture, and natural beauty intertwine in a unique way. The region boasts an exceptionally diverse coastline—ranging from secluded town beaches to expansive bays bordered by sand dunes. The municipality stands out with its bohemian spirit and artistic atmosphere, attracting thousands of artists and tourists every year. The beaches of Chernomorets and Duni, along with the iconic campsites "Gradina," "Zlatna Ribka," and "Kavatsi," offer perfect conditions for both luxury relaxation and free camping or water sports. The undisputed heart of the region is the Old Town of Sozopol (ancient Apollonia) with its narrow cobblestone streets, traditional National Revival-style houses, and romantic seafront restaurants. Among the top attractions are the "Ancient Sozopol" Architectural and Archaeological Reserve, the Southern Fortress Wall and Tower, St. Ivan Island—the largest Bulgarian Black Sea island, where the relics of St. John the Baptist were discovered—and the fairytale castle "In Love with the Wind" in the nearby village of Ravadinovo.
