Overview
Krapets Beach is located in the municipality of Shabla, in the Dobrich Province region of northeastern Bulgaria. This small fishing village lies directly on the seashore and offers visitors one of the few remaining undeveloped and natural coastlines in the country. The sandy beach of Krapets stretches for more than 6 km and reaches approximately 7.5 km in total length. Wide and spacious, it is known for its fine golden sand and natural dunes β symbols of the wild beauty that this coastline still preserves. The shore is surrounded by wheat fields, small forests, and protected lagoons, creating a feeling of solitude and tranquility. In the northern part, the beach runs alongside Durankulak Lake β a protected area and habitat for many rare bird species. Krapets is not developed as a traditional resort destination: the beach is mostly unguarded, with few or no umbrellas and sun loungers available. During the summer season, temporary beach bars offer drinks and snacks. Access to certain areas is often via dirt roads, so an off-road vehicle or bicycle may be useful for reaching more remote sections. Parking is available near the beach and is usually free of charge. The sea is clean, with a gentle sandy entrance in most places. Depending on weather conditions, waves and currents may occur in deeper areas, so caution is recommended when swimming β especially for visitors unfamiliar with the area.
